MANAUS – Actress Gal Gadot, interpreter of the iconic Princess Diana, from the movie Wonder Woman (Wonder Woman, 2017), shared a photo of Amazonian journalist, model and cosplayer Maiara Cristina, 26, for more than 81.5 million followers on social networks. The Israeli artist’s post was to celebrate the 5-year anniversary of the DC Comics publisher’s movie premiere.

“Our first Wonder Woman movie was released five years ago. I am forever honored and touched by how everyone has embraced this character in their lives, in their hearts and in their families. Thank you for all the love you show both of us,” Gad Gadot wrote on Instagram.

An honor

For the Brazilian, being noticed by the actress is an honor. Maiara Cristina points out that Gal Gadot and Wonder Woman, also known as the Amazon Warrior, are inspirations for women and girls around the world. To CENARIUM MAGAZINE, the cosplayer said that she got a fright when she found out that the actress shared her image.

“I got a fright. Who warned me was a friend who is also a cosplayer. Soon after, I saw the actress’ tag in the publication, because besides sharing the photos, she tagged all the girls! I had already tagged her in several photos, but I would never have imagined that she could see or even share them… After all, she has 81 million followers on Instagram,” she recalled.

The image, recorded in front of the Teatro Amazonas, in the Center of Manaus, is part of an essay on Wonder Woman, conducted in partnership with the photographer Arielle Carvalho and the company in which Mairara Cristina works, in character events, Encantados Produções.

Beyond Wonder Woman

To CENARIUM, Maiara told that she has been working for six years, in Manaus, with living characters, also known as cosplayers. Besides Wonder Woman, the journalist remembers that she does countless other characters, such as princesses and superheroines.

“Encantados Produções is a pioneer and a reference in Brazil in this kind of event. Besides Wonder Woman, I play countless characters, such as princesses and superheroines from the most diverse universes! And I confess, it is my passion! I am extremely passionate about my work, I study and look for evolving more and more every day and to have the physical characteristics of the character I am doing in the event”, Maiara Cristina concluded.
