MANAUS – The gas stations in Acre and Roraima are selling diesel with the highest average price in Brazil, whether for regular diesel or the S-10 type. This is what the Ticket Log Price Index (IPTL), which surveyed prices throughout the country, points out and indicated a 12.77% increase in the price of fuel in March, compared to February this year.

Roraima registered the biggest increase in the average price of regular diesel, sold at R$ 7.285, up 14.96%. In Acre, meanwhile, S-10 diesel is being sold at the highest average price in the country, at R$ 7.409, an increase of 14.83%. IPTL also points out that no state showed a decrease in the price of fuel after Petrobras announced a 25% increase.

“The diesel price increase will impact the final price of the products commercialized in Acre and Roraima, because the transportation, from the producer to the distribution, is made by vehicles that use this fuel. Both types of diesel are necessary to turn the economic wheel, and the increase in the price of this fuel will increase the cost of many economic activities and may result in a rise in unemployment”, declared the economist Inaldo Seixas.

The North Region, at R$6.881 and R$7.019, ended the month with the most expensive regular and S-10 diesel in the country, up 13.06% and 14.75%, respectively. The South of the country, on the other hand, recorded the lowest prices for both types of fuel, with an average price of R$ 6.125 and R$ 6.295, up 12.24% and 13.85%, respectively.

“The increase in diesel prices is quite significant for the drivers’ pocketbooks. The average price of this fuel follows an upward trend since the beginning of the year, with average variations of 2.81% in January and 1.47% in February,” said the General Director of Mainstream of Edenred Brazil’s fleet and mobility division, Douglas Pina.

Also in the North Region, Tocantins was the state that presented the most expressive advance for the S-10 type, where the average of R$ 5.744 went to R$ 6.818, an increase of 18.70%. “After the last high announced at the beginning of March, these increases now reach more than 14%, in just a few days, as is the case for the S-10 type. The average price of diesel is already more than 47% higher, if compared to a year ago, according to the latest Ticket Log survey,” concluded Pina.

The IPTL is a fuel price index that is based on the fuel fill-ups made at the 21 thousand Ticket Log service stations, with 1 million managed vehicles.
