MANAUS – With more than 16 thousand visitors, the first edition of ExpoAmazônia Bio&Tic ended this Saturday, 2nd, with countless closed investments, improvement in the companies’ networking and with the promise of leveraging the technology, sustainable development and bioeconomy sectors in the Amazon.

During the three-day event, the fair provided 80 lectures with 120 speakers in total. The balance of investments has not yet been disclosed by the organization, but the forecast is that R$ 20 million in business and pre-investments have been moved.

In an interview to AMAZON AGENCY, Vania Thaumaturgo, director-president of the Association of the Digital Pole of Manaus (APDM), said she was satisfied with the outcome of the event. “The feeling is to have achieved the goals of having the satisfaction of having held an event that brought a very cool energy to the ecosystem, to have heard from people that they enjoyed it and also the feedback regarding this issue of bringing together two ecosystems, both information and communication technology and bioeconomy and biotechnology”, she commented

Vânia thinks the same as the current manager of the Amazon Biotechnology Center (CBA), Fábio Calderaro. He says he believes that the event brought good results for the region. “This junction worked out very well and the receptivity of the public, the ecosystem, and the entrepreneurs who managed to do good business was very good. We also saw several partnerships being signed, so for us it was a great success and we are very satisfied with this result”, he says.

Aldo Evangelista, representative of the Digital Law Commission of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB), commented on the exhibition. “It was very good not only for networking with the other companies and startups that are here at the event, but for the general public that was visiting the fair and stopped at the booth here with us. Some to understand about the commission and others surprised to see the OAB here. Within the digital law commission there is discussion regarding technology and the bioeconomy and how to connect this with digital technologies.”

This first edition, planned since February by the Association of the Digital Pole of Manaus (APDM), the Amazon Biotechnology Center (CBA), the State Secretariat for Economic Development, Science, Technology and Innovation (Sedecti), the Institute for Conservation and Sustainable Development of Amazonas (Idesam) and the Superintendence of the Manaus Free Trade Zone (Suframa), took place from June 30 to July 2, at the Vasco Vasques Convention Center, and opens the door for new events of its kind at the venue.
