MANAUS – With the theme “Resisting Intolerance and beating the Pandemic”, the 21st LGBTQIA+ Pride Parade will be held next Sunday, 5th, in Manaus downtown. With free admission, the event is scheduled to start at 3pm occupying sections of Avenida Eduardo Ribeiro and Saldanha Marinho.

According to the president of the Manaus LGBT Pride Parade, Bruna La Close, the 21st edition of the event represents the recovery and resistance of those considered minorities in society. Besides a moment for celebration, the program brings visibility and opportunity for the community and allies to expose their positions against all forms of prejudice.

“The feeling is simply one of joy and relief, the pandemic has almost completely vetoed us from maintaining our activities, many of the LGBTQIA+ artists depend on the events that are held by the association to have their livelihood. Today, I feel that I am bringing the colors and joy to the street and to the life of our community”, says La Close.
