MANAUS – Amid the high number of cases of Covid-19 in Manaus, the Amazonas Public Ministry (MP-AM) announced on Tuesday, 18, that the body’s activities will be made by relay servers, with maintenance of 50% of the operation in person, as a way to preserve the health of the entire institution and the public service in general. The measure was signed by the act nº 008/2022 by the general attorney of the State, Alberto Nascimento Júnior.

The Public Ministry also clarifies that the edited Act requires, for the frequency of public, servers and members to the buildings of the Institution, proof of compliance with the vaccination cycle. The action may be relaxed, according to the essentiality of the service provided to society by each area, as well as their respective Coordination – Act No. 010/2022/PGJ.

Finally, the Public Ministry’s service to the population is essential for Law and Justice to be effective in the daily lives of this same population, especially at a time when access to health services is so necessary. Thus, the MP-AM will continue working to serve the Amazonian society by its members, servants and collaborators with all due care, attention and responsibility.

Precaution

Other state agencies have adopted similar measures to prevent Covid-19 and curb the spread of the new Omicron variant, such as the Public Defender’s Office (DPE), which adopted the same hybrid work system and work with team relay. The Regional Electoral Court of Amazonas (TRE-AM) and the Federal University of Amazonas (Ufam) are with the activities suspended, temporarily, because of the increase of cases of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Court of Justice of Amazonas authorized, by means of Ordinance No. 68/2022, that the administrative and judicial units of the institution, in an extraordinary way, adopt the work at home office regime until January 31, 2022, due to the current situation of the Covid-19 pandemic and the flu outbreak caused by the Influenza A (H3N2) virus.

When this system is not possible, still according to the ordinance, the units will work in shifts until the end of January, keeping in a presential regime with at least 50% of team members working in the same work environment, except in cases where the measure brings damage to the services provided by the unit.
