Pre-candidate to the Government of AM, Amazonino Mendes wants to censor video where he appears wearing luxury accessory

MANAUS – The Citizenship party, the pre-candidate to the Government of Amazonas Amazon Amazonino Mendes, got, in court, a favorable decision for representation open against the Christian Social Party (PSC), which broadcast video where the former governor appears with luxury accessory valued at R$ 50 thousand. In the document, the Citizenship asks that the advertisement be removed from the social networks of the PSC and stop being shown urgently on radio and television.

The decision, signed by the electoral judge Márcio André Lopes Cavalcante, analyzed the party’s request and granted the representation, accepting the justification of being a “negative electoral prank”. The CENARIUM journalist contacted the PSC via e-mail, but had not heard back from them as of this writing.

The request made by Amazonino’s party states that the party propaganda aired does not comply with the rules of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) and was only created to attack the pre-candidate’s figure.

Signed by lawyers Yuri Dantas Barroso and Sergio Roberto Bulcao Bringel Junior, the text of the representation also states that the “advertising piece is a clear irregular party propaganda” and that it does not meet the criteria established by the agency for it to be of public interest.

Italian watch

Last May 3, CENARIUM reported on the Partido Social Cristão (PSC) party propaganda broadcasted on television and radio and indicated that Mendes has a Panerai worth R$ 50 thousand. To the report, the pre-candidate replied, through the advisory, that the watch is declared in the Income Tax and “was not purchased with public funds”.

The PSC advertisement shows the candidate wearing the pieces in various circumstances, and states that “the watch a man wears shows a lot of who he is. Images show Amazonino Mendes wearing the watch, of Swiss technology, while getting into a luxury boat and piloting it.
